2006 Wheelchair Project

Rotary International has pledged to make this world polio free. Our club is also actively participating to eradicate polio. Our club joined hands with the Rotary club of Mount Clemens, Michigan, U.S.A. to support already polio effected people and physically handicapped people. And with this idea both clubs, along with the Wheelchair Foundation, took up the Wheelchairs Project for the first time in our district, 3020. This project received overwhelming response and support from the public and government and gave a great boon to the physically handicapped poor people. Our club received 240 wheel chairs for the benefit of the poor and needy people. Green View Rotary Club took up this project as our first district project. Most of these wheel chairs are distributed in the remote villages of our entire district. If not for Rotary they could never dream of getting wheelchairs of this kind in their lifetimes. Utmost care has taken in the selection of the receipients; only deserved people are chosen by our club to receive the wheelchairs.

We sincerely thank Rotary Club of Mount Clemens and the Wheelchair Foundation for their encouragement and support given to us in doing this project.
